Al-Qadr القدر

Makki · 5 ayat · 5 with pondering

• Ayah 1The greatest gift ever sent to earth arrives without even being named, on a night that measures the year and can remeasure you.
• Ayah 2Some things you can hunt down with effort; the worth of this night is not one of them, so the Quran pauses and asks before it tells.
• Ayah 3One night, given its due, outweighs a whole lifetime of months, and Allah names only the least of what it is worth.
• Ayah 4On this night the heavens empty onto the earth, wave after wave, and even the greatest of the angels comes only because his Lord said yes.
• Ayah 5For one night heaven greets you with peace until the light breaks through, and the one thing you are taught to ask is to be erased clean.
