• Ayah 1Asked to produce his Lord's lineage, the Prophet ﷺ was handed one word that ends the search: aḥad, outside every line of descent.
• Ayah 2Every creature is hollow and needs refilling from outside itself; Allah is called al-Ṣamad because there is no hollow in Him at all.
• Ayah 3No father to answer to and no son to hand the throne to — no family, no court, standing between you and the One who hears you.
• Ayah 4A kufʾ is whoever could stand shoulder to shoulder with you as an equal; the surah's last word is that nothing can take that stance opposite Him.
