Al-Ahzab 33:54
إِن تُبْدُوا۟ شَيْـًٔا أَوْ تُخْفُوهُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمًا
“Whether you reveal a thing or conceal it, indeed Allāh is ever, of all things, Knowing.”

Essence
Whatever you show and whatever you hide, Allah has always known it all: the hidden room counts as much as the visible one.
A reflection
Two rooms for you, one room for Him
Every human life has two rooms. There is what we show, and there is what we keep. This short ayah names both, and then removes the wall between them.
The two verbs carry pictures. Tubdū, you reveal, comes from b-d-w. Desert people were called badw because they lived in open country, with no buildings to screen them. One work notes that this kind of appearing can happen without intent, like lightning or dawn. Tukhfūhu, you hide it, comes from kh-f-y. The khawāfī were the small feathers beneath a bird's great flight feathers. They vanish whenever the wing folds.
Picture a sixteen-year-old with two accounts on the same app. One is for family, full of graduation photos and charity runs. The other only her friends know about. Then her aunt mentions, gently, a post from the second one. The wall she trusted was never there.
For us, the two rooms are real. For Allah, there is only one. Whether you reveal it or hide it, Allah is ever Knowing of every thing.
Here the ego meets its limit. So much of our energy goes into managing the gap between the two rooms. We curate, we edit, we decide who sees what. The ayah does not say that work is wicked. It says that before Him, it is wasted.
Is this a boast? One commentary answers carefully. Taken generally, this is praise that Allah is worthy of. In this place, it is a warning to those hinted at in the ayah before. His knowledge is not vanity. It is what makes His judgement just. We would fear a judge who had not read the file. The One who knows both rooms is the only One who can judge us fairly.
So stop decorating the front room for Him. Bring Him the whole house.
