At-Taghabun 64:9

“The Day He will assemble you for the Day of Assembly - that is the Day of Deprivation.[1693] And whoever believes in Allāh and does righteousness - He will remove from him his misdeeds and admit him to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.”

Essence

On the day everyone is gathered, the trade finally settles: some end up holding what others gave away, and that exchange is what names this whole surah.

A reflection

The surah's own name is a market word

Ghabn is not originally a religious word at all. It belongs to the marketplace, naming the moment one party in a trade comes away shortchanged, having sold too cheap or bought too dear, while the other side walks off with the better half of the same bargain. Taghābun, the form used here, intensifies that into something mutual and reciprocal: not one party quietly cheated, but both sides of an exchange discovering, at the same moment, how the trade actually came out.

The commentaries read this ayah's "day of mutual loss and gain" in exactly that commercial sense, scaled up to the largest trade there is. Those who believed take up the very dwellings in the Garden that the disbelieving would have occupied, had they chosen differently; the disbelieving, in turn, discover what they have forfeited by the choice they actually made. Everyone, that day, finds out the real exchange rate on the deal their own life was quietly negotiating the entire time.

This is also why the word gives its name to the whole surah rather than sitting as one detail among many. A surah that opens on dominion, moves through creation's purpose, the believer-disbeliever split, and resurrection, is ultimately naming its own central claim with a word borrowed from the souq: every life is already a trade in progress, whether or not the person living it has noticed the haggling.
