Al-Mursalat 77:28

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

“Woe, that Day, to the deniers.”

Saheeh International

Essence

Word for word, the fourth "woe that Day to the deniers" — here it closes the case built from earth, mountains and water, not from history or from the womb.

A reflection

The refrain that closes an argument, not a story

This exact line was first met at 77:15, and its full treatment lives there. Each time it returns in this surah it closes a different case the surah has just made, and this is the fourth time.

The first two returns (77:19, 77:24) closed an argument from history and from the body — earlier deniers destroyed, then every person's own quiet beginning as a weak drop of fluid placed in a secure lodging. This return closes a different kind of evidence entirely: three plain facts about the physical world just given in a row — the earth holding living and dead without filling up, mountains driven in so the ground does not sway, water sweet enough to drink in a world mostly made of water that is not. No history here, no argument from the self. Just the world as it stands, looked at honestly.

That shift matters. A denier might say the first two arguments only work on people who already believe revelation and biology point somewhere. Nobody can say that about a mountain or a glass of water. This is the refrain landing on the hardest ground to dismiss: the ground literally under the listener's own feet.
