Az-Zalzalah الزلزلة
Madani · 8 ayat · 8 with pondering
- Ayah 1The one thing you never think to question, the ground under your feet, will one day slip and slip again, and it is certain, not possible.
- Ayah 2The earth has been carrying everything we buried in it, bodies and gold alike, and one day she will set every load down in the open.
- Ayah 3When the familiar ground turns strange, the creature named for familiarity and forgetfulness finally asks the question it should have asked long before.
- Ayah 4The ground you walk on sees what you are when no one is looking, and on that Day it will tell, in detail, what it saw.
- Ayah 5The whole earth has stayed still under our cities only because it was told to, and one quiet word from your Lord will make it speak.
- Ayah 6Like herds turning home from the water, people will leave that place in scattered groups, each walking the road its own deeds laid down.
- Ayah 7No good is too small to be seen: the weight of a floating speck, done by you, will be shown to you on that Day.
- Ayah 8The smallest wrong is not too small to be seen: like a spark, it can spread, and unless it is erased it will be shown to you.
