إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
“Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.”

Essence
After the fire, the exile and the knife, Allah's final word on Ibrahim is simple: he is one of Our believing servants.
A reflection
The last line of the eulogy
At a packed funeral, speaker after speaker lists the dead man's achievements: degrees, a business built from nothing, charities founded. Then the imam stands. He says only: 'He was a believer. He prayed. He was kind to his mother.' The hall goes very quiet.
This ayah closes Ibrahim's story in that way. After everything, the iconoclast, the man of the fire, the father on the mountain, the final description is: innahu min ʿibādinā al-muʾminīn, he is one of Our believing servants.
One classical commentator, discussing the same closing line for Musa and Harun in this surah, draws a striking conclusion. The virtue that comes from faith, he says, is nobler and more complete than every other. Otherwise it would not be fitting to close the list of their honours with it. Of all the titles Allah could give a prophet, He ends with 'believer'.
That is humbling, and it is also an invitation. The highest description given to Ibrahim at the end of his story is one that any person can share.
