Al-Qasas 28:10
“And the heart of Moses' mother became empty [of all else]. She was about to disclose [the matter concerning] him had We not bound fast her heart that she would be of the believers.”

Essence
The morning after she let him go, a mother's heart held nothing but her son, and only Allah's binding kept the secret in.
A reflection
Even your composure is on loan
A court interpreter is known for her level voice. For eleven years she has rendered grief, fury and lies without a tremor. Colleagues call it professionalism. Privately, she counts it as her own achievement.
Then one morning a witness describes a burning street, and it is the street she grew up on. She keeps going, word by word, voice even. Afterwards, in the corridor, her hands will not stop shaking. She knows now that the steadiness in that room did not come from her.
This ayah says the same of a woman far stronger than most of us. Musa's mother had received a promise from Allah: We will return him to you. She had obeyed and set her baby on the water. Yet the ayah does not credit her nerve. It says lawlā an rabaṭnā ʿalā qalbihā: had We not bound fast her heart. The calm that held was His work, done inside her.
The ego dislikes that sentence. It likes to think composure is a personal asset, built from temperament and training. We say 'I kept it together', as though we owned the glue. The ayah quietly moves the credit. The heart that held was held.
This is no insult to her. The commentators explain that Allah tied her heart so that she would stay among those who trust His promise. Her faith was real; its steadiness was a gift. The same is true of every calm moment you have had in a crisis. The pride that says 'I am the steady type' is borrowing without naming the lender.
Allah does not need the acknowledgement. He is not made greater when we admit it, nor smaller when we forget. The admission is for us. Someone who knows their calm is lent asks for it again tomorrow. Someone who thinks they own it is shocked on the day it is withdrawn.
