Al-Ahzab 33:40
“Muḥammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allāh and seal [i.e., last] of the prophets. And ever is Allāh, of all things, Knowing.”

Essence
No man's father among you, yet a father of another kind: the Messenger, the last brick set in prophethood's house by One who knows everything.
A reflection
He knows where His message belongs
The ayah closes on Allah, not on the Prophet ﷺ. Wa kāna Allāhu bi-kulli shayʾin ʿalīmā. And Allah has always had full knowledge of everything.
One commentary links it to another ayah: Allah knows best where to place His message (6:124). Another says His knowledge of everything includes knowing that there would be no prophet after this one. A third explains it as knowing all your deeds and words, with nothing hidden from Him.
So the choice of the final messenger was not an accident of history, nor a reward for lineage or wealth. It came from the One who knows every heart, every century and every people who would ever hear him.
That reaches into a pride we rarely notice. We tend to believe we can tell who deserves a great trust. We look at family, schooling, money and confidence, and we decide. The leaders of Makkah did exactly that. They could not imagine the message going to an orphan who had herded sheep.
A large firm needs someone to lead its hardest project. The board's shortlist is all polished names from famous universities. The person who actually understands the system is a quiet woman who studied at evening classes while working in the post room. She is not on the list. Two years later, when the project is failing, it is she who saves it.
People misjudge where a trust belongs because they see only surfaces. Allah sees everything. The ayah ends by reminding the reader of this. No one should confuse the Prophet's rank with an accident, or their own rank with merit.
Is it arrogant for Allah to praise His own knowledge? Consider what the praise does for us. It means the final messenger was chosen by perfect knowledge, so we can trust the message completely. And it means our own lives are known completely too. Nothing we carry is misunderstood by Him, even when everyone else misjudges it.
The ego wants to be the judge of who deserves what. This ayah gives that judgement back to the only One who knows.
