Al-Mursalat 77:19

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

“Woe, that Day, to the deniers.”

Saheeh International

Essence

The same sentence returns, now charging the second entry on the account: denying that the earlier peoples' fate was ever a fair and deliberate pattern.

A reflection

The second line on the bill

At 77:15 this sentence first appeared, and the fuller treatment there explains why it is built like an itemised bill rather than a single lump verdict: each fresh thing denied earns its own line, its own share of woe, rather than dissolving into one vague impression of unbelief. That entry is worth reading in full for the grammar, the root images, and the doubt it answers.

Here the refrain returns for the second time, immediately after two claims just made: that the earlier peoples' destruction actually happened (77:16), and that it was not arbitrary but a deliberate pattern, the guilty receiving the harvest their own hands had gathered (77:17–18). Denying either of those two claims, that the ruins are real, or that the pattern behind them was fair rather than cruel, earns its own separate charge on the same account 77:15 first opened. The sentence is not repeating itself. It is being applied to a new line item.
