Al-Ahqaf 46:30
“They said, "O our people, indeed we have heard a [recited] Book revealed after Moses confirming what was before it which guides to the truth and to a straight path.”

Essence
The jinn tell their people of a Book sent after Musa, confirming what came before and guiding to the truth and a well-trodden straight road.
A reflection
A road worn smooth by the messengers' feet
The Quran usually calls the straight way ṣirāṭ. Here, in the words of the believing jinn, it is ṭarīq. One classical writer pauses on the difference and finds a fine point. Ṭarīq carries the sense of something trodden: a road that feet have beaten. The lexicons agree that a ṭarīq is ground beaten by feet, from a root of striking, as a smith strikes with his hammer. The image is established.
The same writer notes why the word fits here. The jinn have just said the Book was sent down after Musa and confirms what came before it. So the road it guides to is not new. It has been walked by messenger after messenger. He links it to the Prophet's words earlier in this same surah: I am not something new among the messengers (46:9).
Picture an old pilgrim path climbing a hillside to a shrine abandoned long ago. The stone steps are worn into hollows by eight centuries of feet. A walker today places her boots exactly where thousands of others placed theirs. She does not need a map. The stone itself shows the way, because so many have gone before.
That is the comfort inside the word. Islam is not presented to the jinn, or to us, as an untested invention. It is a road with the grooves of Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa and ʿIsa already in it.
When faith feels lonely or strange, remember the worn steps. You are not cutting a new path through the hillside. You are putting your feet where the best of humanity put theirs, on a road beaten smooth by those who reached the top.
