Al-Muzzammil 73:11
وَذَرْنِى وَٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ أُو۟لِى ٱلنَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيلًا
“And leave Me with [the matter of] the deniers, those of ease [in life], and allow them respite a little.”
Saheeh International
Essence
Hand Me the ones who have everything and still deny; a little more time is not forgetting, it is patience before justice.
A reflection
A weight taken off your shoulders
Wa dharnī wa-l-mukadhdhibīn. And leave Me with the deniers.
A classical commentator reads the phrase plainly: it is said when someone is already carrying a weighty concern, and another party, fully capable of handling it to completion, steps in and says, simply, leave it to me. There is no need to add anything further, because the one taking over is more than equal to it. The same construction appears elsewhere: 'So leave Me with whoever denies' (68:44).
The Prophet ﷺ had just been told to bear what the mockers said, and to leave them with a graceful distance (73:10). Immediately after, the weight of actually dealing with them is lifted from his hands entirely. He does not have to track every insult, plan a comeback, or wonder when justice will finally land. He is told, in effect: that part was never really yours to carry. Leave these people with Me.
There is real relief in that handover, the kind felt by anyone who has spent months carrying a problem alone, rehearsing arguments at 2am, only to have someone with actual authority finally say: I have got this, stop worrying about it. The difference here is the one making the offer. This is not a manager or a solicitor, doing their competent best. It is the Lord of the East and the West, named two ayat earlier, taking personal responsibility for exactly the people who have been making the Prophet's ﷺ life hardest.
