Al-Ahzab 33:2
وَٱتَّبِعْ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا
“And follow that which is revealed to you from your Lord. Indeed Allāh is ever, of what you do, Aware.”

Essence
Refusing the wrong voices is half the instruction; the other half is walking where revelation leads, before the One who knows you.
A reflection
How you look and what you prove to be
A young mechanic arrives for his first morning at a busy garage. His CV is immaculate and his references glow. The foreman reads none of it. He hands him the keys to a car with an intermittent fault and goes back to his tea. By lunchtime he knows more about the new man than any CV could tell him.
The Arabs had two words for that difference. A person's manẓar was how he looked. His makhbar was what he proved to be when tested. Khubr, the lexicons say, is knowledge of a thing's inner reality, reached by trying it. From that root comes the name that closes this ayah: inna Allāha kāna bimā taʿmalūna khabīrā. Allah is ever Acquainted with what you do.
Most of our effort goes on the manẓar. We curate how we come across: the measured post, the careful reputation, the version of ourselves told at dinner. Even religion can become a surface, polished for the people who see it. The ego invests heavily there, because the surface is what others reward.
This name makes that investment look small. The One who is Khabīr knows the inside of every deed: the motive under the act, the thought under the smile. One early commentary says nothing of what you do is hidden from Him. Another adds that the One who knows hearts also knows deeds, so set right both. Nothing we arrange on the surface reaches Him as a disguise.
That could sound like pressure. It is closer to relief. He does not need our image, and He is not impressed by it. He needs nothing from us at all. What He asks is that the inside and the outside agree. That is a lighter burden than maintaining a performance for everyone else.
The ayah pairs this name with the command to follow revelation, and the link is simple. The One who knows what you really do is best placed to tell you what to do. A foreman's test lasts a morning. His knowledge covers every hour.
