An-Nisa النساء
Madani · 176 ayat · 176 with pondering
- Ayah 1Before any law on orphans or inheritance, the surah traces every human to one soul and sets the womb's bond beside Allah's name.
- Ayah 2Hand the orphan what is theirs, whole, without quiet swaps or blurring it into your own money: that wrong has a face.
- Ayah 3The famous 'two, three or four' sits inside a sentence built on the fear of injustice, and it ends by pointing to one.
- Ayah 4The bride's gift is hers, given as gladly as a parent's gift; only what she lets go from a willing heart may be taken back.
- Ayah 5Wealth is what Allah made you stand on: keep it from hands that would scatter it, yet feed, clothe and speak kindly to them.
- Ayah 6Test the orphan's judgement, hand over their wealth at the first clear sign of maturity, take nothing in haste: the final audit is His.
- Ayah 7Where only warriors inherited, one sentence gave women and children a share of their own, little or much, cut and fixed by Allah.
- Ayah 8When an estate is divided before those with no share, give them something from it and a kind word: no one should leave empty.
- Ayah 9Picture your own small children left behind without you, then treat other people's children, and speak about them, the way you would want yours treated.
- Ayah 10Whatever is taken unjustly from an orphan is fire already, swallowed now and felt later, because the weakest have the strongest Defender.
- Ayah 11Allah Himself takes charge of your children's shares, because you cannot know which relative will truly benefit you; the division is the Wise One's.
- Ayah 12Spouses and side-kin are written into each other's estates, and the ayah closes by naming the One who watches anyone tempted to bend a will.
- Ayah 13The shares just listed are Allah's own boundaries, and the one who yields to them is promised a win that outlasts any estate.
- Ayah 14Whoever pulls away from Allah's division and runs past His lines ends alone, made light by the One he thought he outweighed.
- Ayah 15The earliest law here guarded reputations behind four witnesses, set a temporary measure, and promised in the same breath that Allah would open a way.
- Ayah 16A consequence is set, but built to stop: once two people turn back and repair their lives, leave them be, for Allah keeps returning.
- Ayah 17Allah has bound Himself, by His own word, to receive those who stumble in blindness and turn back while the road is open.
- Ayah 18The door that stood open all life long cannot be reached for once death has arrived; the time to turn is before 'now'.
- Ayah 19A woman is not an inheritance, her will is not an obstacle, and a spouse you no longer like is still owed kindness.
- Ayah 20What was given to a wife stays hers, even a fortune, even when the marriage ends; taking it back is called a stunning lie.
- Ayah 21After two people have entered each other's open space and bound themselves with a thick covenant, nothing given can decently be clawed back.
- Ayah 22A son may not marry his father's wife; the ayah draws that line plainly, forgives what came before it, and guards the bond between generations.
- Ayah 23The closest bonds of birth, milk and marriage are made a sanctuary, so those who raise you and live beside you can love without agenda.
- Ayah 24Beyond a few guarded lines, marriage is wide open: sought with a gift, built as a fortress, kept by two people turning towards each other.
- Ayah 25Rank divides people, but only Allah knows the worth of faith, and He opens a dignified path for anyone whose reach is short.
- Ayah 26After the hardest laws of the surah, Allah tells you what He wants: clarity, a road others have walked, and His turning towards you.
- Ayah 27Two wants pull at you: Allah wants to turn towards you, and those led by appetite want you to lean far from the middle.
- Ayah 28The Almighty chooses to lighten your load, because He measured you and knows you were made weak.
- Ayah 29Wealth and life are both guarded here: earn by willing exchange, never by falsehood, and do not destroy yourselves, because Allah is merciful to you.
- Ayah 30Deliberate aggression against life and wealth meets a Fire, and no wealth, rank or delay puts anyone beyond the reach of Allah.
- Ayah 31Keep the gravest sins at a distance, and Allah Himself covers the smaller ones and brings you in through a noble door.
- Ayah 32Stop measuring yourself against what Allah gave others: everyone keeps what they earned, and the door to ask Him for more is always open.
- Ayah 33Everything you leave already has someone appointed to it, every pledge you made is owed its share, and Allah was present for all of it.
- Ayah 34A verse quoted for one verb is really a whole sentence: a trigger, three steps, a hard stop, and Allah named above every husband.
- Ayah 35When a marriage splits into two sides, send one fair person from each family, aim for repair, and remember that Allah knows every hidden intention.
- Ayah 36The ayah opens with Allah alone and closes with the strutting boaster; between them stand ten kinds of people owed kindness.
- Ayah 37Stinginess here grows in three steps: keeping, then preaching it, then hiding the gift, as if what Allah poured out were never given.
- Ayah 38Giving to be seen is a purchase: the giver buys applause and is paid in full, with Satan roped beside him.
- Ayah 39One gentle, cutting question: what would it really have cost them to believe and to give, asked by the One who knows them fully?
- Ayah 40Allah will not wrong anyone by a speck of dust, and any good, however small, He multiplies by an amount He leaves untold.
- Ayah 41On the Day, every people's prophet stands as witness, and the Prophet ﷺ over them all; when he heard this ayah recited, he wept.
- Ayah 42On that Day the deniers will wish the earth were smoothed over them, and not a single word will stay hidden from Allah.
- Ayah 43Come to prayer knowing what you say, and when water fails or illness stops you, turn to clean earth instead of turning away.
- Ayah 44Holding part of a revelation is no protection: one can still trade guidance for error, and then want others to lose the road too.
- Ayah 45After naming those who want you lost, the Quran turns at once to comfort: Allah knows them better than you, and He is enough.
- Ayah 46Words can be bent off their line, given a hidden edge, or heard and ignored; the ayah names each twist, then offers straight words.
- Ayah 47Believe what confirms the Book in your hands, before the face you meet the world with is turned backwards; His command is always done.
- Ayah 48One thing, met unrepented, Allah does not forgive: setting partners beside Him; everything less, however vast, lies open to His forgiveness for whom He wills.
- Ayah 49Declaring yourself pure counts for nothing; Allah alone purifies and vouches for whom He wills, and no one is wronged by even a date-stone's thread.
- Ayah 50Claiming Allah's approval for yourself is a lie told about Him, and that one lie is enough, plainly, to leave a person behind.
- Ayah 51Knowledge of revelation is no protection if, to win allies, a person bows to falsehood and calls the misguided better guided than the believers.
- Ayah 52Those who bowed to falsehood to win helpers are driven far from Allah's mercy, and whoever He drives away will find no helper anywhere.
- Ayah 53The dominion is not theirs to share out; given any, a grasping heart would not part with even the pit on a date-stone.
- Ayah 54To envy people for Allah's bounty is to quarrel with the Giver, who has always given Book, wisdom and kingdom as He wills.
- Ayah 55One message divides its hearers: some believe, some turn away and bar the road, and for those who refuse, the kindled Fire is enough.
- Ayah 56Those who reject His signs face a Fire where feeling never dulls; the Mighty, the Wise acts with both power and justice.
- Ayah 57Faith joined to good deeds leads to gardens with flowing rivers, purified companions and a deep shade that no sun ever breaks, for ever.
- Ayah 58Hand every trust in full to its owner, and judge between people with balance; the One who commands it hears and sees it all.
- Ayah 59'Obey' is said twice, not three times: Allah and His Messenger are obeyed in their own right, and every other authority only inside that.
- Ayah 60Faith stays a claim until a quarrel presses on it; then the judge a person reaches for shows what they truly believe.
- Ayah 61The invitation says 'come up' to what Allah sent down; the hypocrite's answer is not an argument but a turning away.
- Ayah 62Those who fled the truth in comfort come back to its door in hardship, carrying not repentance but the finest-sounding excuse: we only meant well.
- Ayah 63Allah answers a polished oath with one fact, that He knows their hearts, then teaches: decline the excuse, spare the person, reach the soul.
- Ayah 64After the claims, excuses and oaths, the door stays open: had they come asking forgiveness, they would have found Allah turning to them in mercy.
- Ayah 65Bringing the case is not enough: faith, Allah swears, is finding no tightness in the chest at the verdict, and handing yourself over whole.
- Ayah 66Allah knows how few would pass a crushing test; He asked something light instead, and doing it steadies a person more than imagined heroics.
- Ayah 67For the small obedience asked, the reward comes from right beside Allah Himself, and its size is set by the Giver, not by the deed.
- Ayah 68Guidance is not only where obedience begins but also what it earns: act on the counsel you have, and Allah leads you further.
- Ayah 69The reward of obedience is named as company: the prophets, the truthful, the witnesses and the righteous, and how excellent they are to travel with.
- Ayah 70All that is promised to the obedient is an overflow of Allah's generosity, not a wage; and He is enough as the One who knows.
- Ayah 71Faith does not make a person careless: take your precautions first, then go out, in small bands or all together, as the moment requires.
- Ayah 72Some hang back and slow others, then thank Allah for their own absence when those who went are hurt.
- Ayah 73When good comes to the believers, the one who hung back wishes he had been there: not for love of them, but for his share.
- Ayah 74Every life is traded for something; those who give this world for the next are promised a great reward, whether they fall or prevail.
- Ayah 75Men, women and children were crying 'Our Lord, rescue us', and the ayah asks the people who could hear them: what is wrong with you?
- Ayah 76Every struggle runs on one of two roads, Allah's or tyranny's, and the plotting of Satan, however laboured, has always been weak.
- Ayah 77Some who asked for a hard duty feared it when it came; the reply: this world is a brief morning, and nothing done is lost.
- Ayah 78Death reaches you even in the highest tower, and all that comes to you, good or hard, is from Allah, not from whoever you blame.
- Ayah 79Every good that reaches you is Allah's gift; the harm you meet you largely set in motion yourself, and Allah is enough as witness.
- Ayah 80Obeying the Messenger is obeying Allah, for he brings only what Allah sent; those who turn away are Allah's to judge, not his to police.
- Ayah 81Some promise obedience to your face and craft the opposite once they leave; Allah records it all, so turn aside and lean on Him.
- Ayah 82The Quran does not ask for defence here; it hands you a test, and says what you would find if it were false.
- Ayah 83News of hope or of fear should travel first to those who can draw out its truth, and only then to the crowd.
- Ayah 84You answer for your own steps and are told to lift others gently, while the might you fear is small beside His.
- Ayah 85Whoever stands beside another and speaks for them shares in what their word sets moving, for good or for ill, and Allah keeps every portion.
- Ayah 86A greeting is a small prayer for someone's life; answer it with more warmth than you received, for the Reckoner counts this too.
- Ayah 87The only One worth worshipping has sworn to gather everyone, and no word is sounder than His.
- Ayah 88Do not split into camps over people whose own deeds have turned them back; guidance is Allah's to give, not yours to declare.
- Ayah 89Some want you lowered to their level; trust follows what a person leaves behind; and the hard command here belongs to a bounded wartime setting.
- Ayah 90Those who shelter with your allies, or stand aside torn, are owed peace; once someone lays down the rope, no road against them remains.
- Ayah 91Those who play both sides fall back each time the test returns; even so, the line is drawn by conduct, and only on clear proof.
- Ayah 92Taking a believer's life is foreign to faith; even a life lost by mistake carries real weight, and Allah opens a road back.
- Ayah 93Deliberately taking a believer's life draws one of the Quran's heaviest warnings; a single life weighs more with Allah than the whole world.
- Ayah 94Before any verdict on someone's faith, look again until it is clear: gain quietly bends judgement, and only Allah sees inside a heart.
- Ayah 95Those who give wealth and self for Allah rise above those who sit back; the disabled are excepted, and every believer is promised good.
- Ayah 96The striver's great reward is degrees given from Allah, with forgiveness and mercy beside them, for even the best still need to be covered.
- Ayah 97Asked at death what state their faith was in, some plead weakness; the angels reply that Allah's earth was wide enough to move.
- Ayah 98The warning stops short of the truly trapped: men, women and children with no means of escape and no one to show them the road.
- Ayah 99Even the truly trapped are given hope, not a claim: Allah may well pardon them, for pardoning and forgiving is His settled way.
- Ayah 100Whoever leaves for Allah finds room and refuge on the earth; whoever dies on the road has a reward already landed with Allah.
- Ayah 101Prayer travels with you: on the road and under threat it may be shortened, never dropped, and the lightening is a gift to accept.
- Ayah 102Even under threat the prayer is kept, in turns, with watchfulness; and even then Allah makes room for rain and sickness.
- Ayah 103After the prayer, keep remembering Allah in every posture; when life settles, pray in full, for prayer is an appointment fixed in time.
- Ayah 104Do not let pain make you slacken: others hurt as you do, but you hope from Allah for what they cannot.
- Ayah 105The Book came down with the truth, so no one, however close or respected, may enlist you to defend a betrayal.
- Ayah 106Even the best of people is told to ask Allah's forgiveness, because He has always been the One who covers faults and shows mercy.
- Ayah 107Whoever betrays others has first betrayed himself, so do not argue on behalf of such people, for Allah does not love the habitual betrayer.
- Ayah 108People hide their schemes from one another, yet Allah is with them as they plot, and His knowledge surrounds all they do.
- Ayah 109You may win an argument for someone in this world, but on the Day of Resurrection no one will argue with Allah on his behalf.
- Ayah 110Whatever wrong you have done to others or to yourself, turn and ask, and you will find Allah already there, forgiving and merciful.
- Ayah 111Every sin is earned against the one who commits it, and the All-Knowing, All-Wise never lets it land on the wrong account.
- Ayah 112Whoever does wrong and throws the blame on an innocent person does not get rid of it; he takes on a far heavier load.
- Ayah 113Allah's favour shielded His Prophet from a plot to mislead him, and taught him what he did not know; the plotters misled only themselves.
- Ayah 114Most private talk does no good; the conversations that count urge giving, kindness or making peace, and done for Allah they earn an immense reward.
- Ayah 115Whoever turns against the Messenger after the truth is clear to him is left with what he chose, and it leads to a terrible end.
- Ayah 116Almost word for word, Allah repeats 4:48: less than partnership He may forgive, but whoever sets up partners has wandered far from the road.
- Ayah 117Whatever people call on besides Allah turns out to be either lifeless things that cannot act, or the rebel voice of Satan working behind them.
- Ayah 118Allah drove Satan away from His mercy, and Satan swore to carve out a fixed share of Allah's servants for himself.
- Ayah 119Satan lays out his plan: mislead, feed false hopes, command, and alter what Allah made; whoever takes him as ally has plainly lost.
- Ayah 120Satan keeps promising and keeps people wishing, but everything he promises is delusion: a fair outside with nothing inside.
- Ayah 121Those who took Satan as their ally end up where his road leads: Hell is the home they return to, with nowhere left to swerve.
- Ayah 122Against Satan's empty promises stands Allah's: gardens with flowing rivers, forever, for those who believe and do good; no one is truer in speech.
- Ayah 123Salvation is not decided by anyone's wishful claims, ours or others'; whoever does wrong meets its recompense, and no one but Allah can protect him.
- Ayah 124Any believer, man or woman, who does what good they can will enter Paradise; not even a date-stone's groove of reward is withheld.
- Ayah 125None lives a finer faith than one who gives his whole self to Allah, does good, and walks the way of Ibrahim, Allah's intimate friend.
- Ayah 126Everything in the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah, and Allah has always encompassed every single thing.
- Ayah 127Allah Himself takes up the case of the girl nobody argues for, and names the guardian who profits whether he wants her or not.
- Ayah 128When a wife senses her husband turning away, the two may mend it between themselves; repair is better, though every soul grips what it owns.
- Ayah 129Hearts will tip, however hard you try; what is forbidden is letting the tip become a total lean that leaves someone hanging.
- Ayah 130If a marriage cannot be saved and the two part, neither was ever the other's true provider: Allah will give each enough from His vastness.
- Ayah 131Everything belongs to Allah, every scripture carried one charge, be mindful of Him, and He is praised whether or not anyone praises.
- Ayah 132Everything belongs to Allah, and He is enough as the One to whom every affair can be handed: He guards it all and never tires.
- Ayah 133If He willed, He could replace every one of us with others; that He has not is wisdom and respite.
- Ayah 134Whoever wants only what this world pays should know that both this world's reward and the next are in Allah's hand, so aim for both.
- Ayah 135Keep standing for justice as witnesses for Allah, even against yourself, your parents and your family, bending neither for the rich nor for the poor.
- Ayah 136Believers are told to believe: to renew, deepen and complete their faith in Allah, His Messenger, and every book and messenger He sent.
- Ayah 137Those who keep believing and leaving, then go further in denial, have made faith a thing to drop, and forfeit forgiveness and the way.
- Ayah 138Those who wear faith outwardly and hide denial within are handed 'good news' of a painful punishment, delivered while there is still time to turn.
- Ayah 139The hypocrites court the enemies of faith in search of honour, but every grain of honour belongs to Allah, and none can be bought elsewhere.
- Ayah 140When Allah's verses are mocked in your hearing, rise from that gathering until the talk turns; staying put makes you a partner in it.
- Ayah 141The hypocrites wait to see who wins and claim a share from the winner; but Allah's verdict on the Day cannot be hedged.
- Ayah 142The hypocrites' trick on Allah folds back on them, and they drag themselves to prayer for an audience, barely remembering Him in it.
- Ayah 143The hypocrites swing between faith and denial, belonging fully to neither; and the one Allah leaves to wander finds no road at all.
- Ayah 144Believers must not trade the bond of faith for its opponents' favour; why would anyone hand Allah a clear case against themselves?
- Ayah 145Those who wore faith as a mask end in the Fire's lowest depth, and none of the helpers they cultivated comes.
- Ayah 146Even the hypocrite can come home: turning back, repairing, holding fast to Allah and purifying his faith, he stands with the believers in their reward.
- Ayah 147Allah gains nothing from punishing anyone; what He wants is gratitude and faith, and He is the One who appreciates even the smallest good.
- Ayah 148Allah dislikes ugliness dragged into public view, yet keeps a door open for the wronged to speak, and He hears both voices.
- Ayah 149Good shown or good hidden, or a wrong let go: the ayah steers toward pardon, because Allah pardons while fully able to punish.
- Ayah 150Accepting some of Allah's messengers and rejecting others, while hoping for a road between belief and denial, is a pattern the ayah exposes.
- Ayah 151A faith that picks and chooses among Allah's messengers is named for what it is, and pride that refused the truth meets humiliation.
- Ayah 152Those who receive every messenger as one family from one Lord are promised their reward without fail, and covered by forgiveness and mercy besides.
- Ayah 153A demand for a book from the sky recalls older demands, a calf worshipped after clear signs, and a pardon still granted.
- Ayah 154A mountain held overhead, a gate entered bowing, a day to stop and trust: the covenant was made thick, and its weight was real.
- Ayah 155Covenants unravelled, signs denied, prophets killed, and hearts declared full: the Quran names each deed, shows the seal as their consequence, and keeps…
- Ayah 156Allah Himself names the slander against Mary for what it was, a lie so monstrous it stuns, and stands as the defender of her honour.
- Ayah 157Jesus, honoured by every one of his names, was neither killed nor crucified; it was made to appear so, and the claim stayed conjecture.
- Ayah 158Where enemies claimed the last word, Allah raised Jesus to Himself; the Mighty cannot be overcome, and the Wise lets nothing happen without purpose.
- Ayah 159The truth about Jesus will one day be plain to all, and on the Day of Resurrection he will stand as a witness.
- Ayah 160Wrongdoing cost a people good things once lawful to them, and barring others from Allah's way multiplied the harm: history with lessons for all.
- Ayah 161Usury taken despite a clear prohibition and wealth consumed by falsehood close the account; the punishment is reserved for those who persisted in disbelief.
- Ayah 162With one word, 'but', the Quran answers any totalising reading: among them are people rooted in knowledge, believing, praying and giving, promised a great…
- Ayah 163The same Lord who spoke to Nuh, Ibrahim, Isa and Dawud revealed to the Prophet ﷺ: one Sender, one message, one long unbroken line.
- Ayah 164Some messengers are named and many are not; to Musa, Allah spoke directly, a unique honour from the One whose speech is real.
- Ayah 165Allah sent messengers with good news and warning before any judgment, so no one could say they were never told.
- Ayah 166When people refused to vouch for the Prophet ﷺ, Allah Himself bore witness, with the angels; and His witness alone is enough.
- Ayah 167To reject the truth and then block others from it is to go far astray: lost yourself, and leading others into the same loss.
- Ayah 168Those who reject the truth and persist in wronging others, knowingly, until the end, close behind them the very doors of forgiveness and guidance.
- Ayah 169For those who refuse and obstruct to the end, only one road remains: Hell, for ever; and that is no strain on Allah.
- Ayah 170To every human being: the truth has come from your Lord, so believe, for your own good; Allah owns everything and needs nothing.
- Ayah 171ʿĪsā is honoured as Allah's messenger, His word and a spirit from Him; in the same breath, Allah is declared One, needing no son.
- Ayah 172Neither the Messiah nor the nearest angels disdain being Allah's servants; servanthood crowns the greatest, and the proud are gathered too.
- Ayah 173Those who believe and do good are paid in full and given more; the proud find no protector but the One they refused.
- Ayah 174To all humanity: a decisive proof has come from your Lord, with a light sent down that is clear and shows the way.
- Ayah 175Those who believe in Allah and hold fast to Him are brought into His mercy and bounty, and guided along a straight road to Himself.
- Ayah 176The surah closes as it opened, on family: Allah answers a worried question about siblings, making it plain so no one goes astray.
